Night walking
I walked the half circuit from the main road through to the back of the house tonight, after dark. With a torch, obviously! The first part is on an uneven track through the woods, with no lighting or houses. Once I've got my night eyes in, it's rather enjoyable. There's no-one else around, you can see the sky properly, because there aren't any lights, and it's all very peaceful. It's a good way to wind down after what was a long day at work.
The second part is on a good solid small road, with houses and it's a nightmare. The house lighting is all too bright (one in particular is lit up like a Christmas tree, which means that I'm dazzled, and can't see past it to see where my feet are going...) and at the time of night I was out, it's full of dog walkers with dogs in varying states of control. Never mind, it's the short bit.
When I come down the last bit of hill towards the house I can see Handsome backlit through the kitchen windows, cooking my dinner.
