it's only september...
This week at work they handed out the menu choices for the Christmas meal - on the nineteenth of December. I am totally aware that these things have to be booked early, and when the time comes I will absolutely want to go - and I'll take Handsome too. But on a day when the sun has shone, and my workplace has been, quite frankly, unpleasantly hot and sticky, it's very hard to decide what I'll want to eat in Winter, in almost four months time. In fact, I swither between choices whenever I go out to dinner, and that's when I'm actually sitting in the restaurant, hungry and ready to eat.
Mind you, the choice for first course is somewhat narrow if you don't like cheese soup - a concept I've always found somewhat odd. And the main courses are all very traditional apart from the spaghetti, which seems to be the only vegetarian option they can manage, because it was there last time too. And the puddings are uninspired - but at least coffee is included...
Damn - I've just realised I've got to pay for it this week as well. Is the staff Christmas meal included in my credit crunch planning?
Perhaps I'll leave Handsome at home with the cat and Mouse.
